MEET RORY

A Lifetime Rooted in Grand County

Rory Paxman is a lifelong Grand County resident, husband, father, business owner, and community leader who has spent his life investing in the place he proudly calls home.

As the owner of one of Moab's legacy recreation and tourism businesses, Rory has spent decades serving both local residents and visitors from around the world. His family business has been part of the community for more than 60 years, helping introduce generations of visitors to the beauty, history, and outdoor experiences that make Grand County unique.

Rory understands the importance of balancing economic opportunity with protecting the character, values, and quality of life that make Grand County such a special place to live, work, and raise a family.

His connection to Grand County isn't political—it's personal. From local businesses and public lands to families, schools, and neighborhoods, Rory has experienced firsthand the opportunities and challenges facing our community.

That experience, combined with his previous service on the Grand County Commission from 2013 to 2020, gives him a practical understanding of what it takes to keep Grand County strong, financially responsible, and focused on the people who live here.

Why I'm Running

I am running for Grand County Commissioner because I believe our county deserves leadership that puts residents first.

I have concerns about fiscal responsibility, increasing outside influence on local decisions, and the growing divide that makes it difficult to work together respectfully on behalf of our community.

Grand County's future should be shaped by the people who live, work, raise families, operate businesses, and invest their lives here—not by organizations or interests outside our county.

Our future needs to work for us.

Our tax dollars need to work for us.

Our citizens and businesses should come first, every time.

My Priorities

Fiscal Responsibility

Every tax dollar belongs to the people of Grand County. County government should spend responsibly, prioritize essential services, and remain accountable to taxpayers.

Respectful Communication

We don't all have to agree, but we do need leaders who can listen, communicate respectfully, and work together to solve problems.

Local Voices First

The future of Grand County should be determined by the people who call this place home.

Supporting Families & Businesses

Strong communities are built by strong families, local businesses, and hardworking residents. County government should support their success—not create unnecessary obstacles.

Protecting Grand County's Future

Growth and change are inevitable, but decisions about our future should reflect the values and priorities of the people who live here.

Looking Ahead

I believe Grand County's best days are still ahead of us.

Together, we can build a future that protects our values, strengthens our economy, supports local families and businesses, and preserves the quality of life that makes this community such a special place to call home.

I would be honored to earn your vote and the opportunity to serve Grand County once again.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about my campaign, and I look forward to earning your trust, your support, and your vote.

Grand County First. Always.
